Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get the photos?

I try and make my turn around process as fast as possible! Within 24 hours I prepare a sneak peek of the day with around 30 photos in a mobile gallery that you can share via SMS. All images are then uploaded to your online gallery within 3 weeks.

Will you be the photographer on the day

Great question and yes I will . So many studios out there offering services where you never really know who will be your photographer. If you can its good to meet your photographer make sure your in sync .

How do i print photos

When printing, always use the highest resolution version of the photo available (measured in pixels on the longest edge, such as horizontal pixels for landscape photos).

For my wedding clients, I recommend downloading the maximum resolution files to get the best print quality. These files are ready for download when you receive your full gallery. Simply select “High Resolution” from Pixieset when downloading your images. While web-based files have a watermark, print-ready files do not.

Our online print and framing store allows you and your guests to purchase prints directly, as well as select any bundled prints or frames included in your package.

Where should i store the photos.

Your gallery will be hosted for 18 mths or as detailed in our agreement and you will receive a email 1 month in advance of any changes to this.

Previously i provided a USB drive and this is still available should you want , however , it is not the best way to store photos long term & I highly recommended that you download them in the highest resolution available and store them using a backup service such as Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox or other cloud based storage.

You may also wish to encourage friends and family to download in high resolution and keep a copy as well. This way, you have multiple copies of the galleries stored and backed up.

Storing photos in multiple locations is the best way to guard against accidental data loss.

Do you retouch the photos?

Stage One involves essential edits like color correction, exposure adjustments, sharpening, and composition refinement on every image. This foundational step ensures all photos look polished and are ready for printing.

Stage Two focuses on key images of you and other important moments destined for your album. This phase includes detailed adjustments—such as blemish removal, clutter cleanup, and enhancements for a more dramatic effect—ensuring that these select images are truly standout.

Stage Three is dedicated to refining images intended for albums, slideshows, and special prints. At this stage, we prioritize any specific requests, like retouching in a guest who was unable to be present or has passed away, creating deeply meaningful, customized images.

How to you deliver photos

What experience do you have

With a background as a CEO, I bring a wealth of organizational insight and a client-first philosophy to wedding photography. Transitioning full-time into photography in 2010 and starting wedding photography in 2012, I found my niche and, by 2014, focused exclusively on capturing weddings. Since then, I’ve photographed over 400 weddings, working with many happy couples.

My experience as a CEO taught me the importance of consistency, clear communication, and efficiency—all of which play into the careful process I bring to my photography. Each wedding is treated with professionalism and attention to detail, making sure your day is preserved in the best way possible.

How many images will we receive?

During a full-day wedding shoot, my assistant Deb and I typically capture between 1500-2000 photos. I then carefully select and remove any test shots, blinks, duplicates, and unnecessary images, refining the collection to a curated set of around 500-1000 photos. This final count depends on details like the guest count, wedding party size, length of the event, and any additional cultural or ceremonial elements.

While some photographers deliver 2000-3000 photos, I believe that can become overwhelming and repetitive. With 15 years of experience, I know when I’ve captured the perfect shot, and I prefer to focus on creating diverse and meaningful combinations rather than taking multiple photos of the same moment.

Are the images watermarked?

I watermark the web images only during the initial upload period but full resolution images uploaded at same time are not. It's to save confusion at your end make it easy for you to share & often there are updates as well . When everything is final with images , Albums etc i typically remove the web images completely.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Awesome! I love rain, some of my absolute favourite shots ever are in the rain. Although it’s totally up to you and also depends on how hard it is raining! If it is drizzling, then let’s grab the umbrellas and head out. Colours look lush, surfaces become reflective and I find that everything just comes alive! When we meet prior to wedding we can formulate plan b in case it rains

What makes your work different to other photographers?

I love what I do, thrive on the pressure to get it right and enjoy the connection with the couples I meet. I invest time in pre-preparation treating every wedding as a unique event and endeavour to have the couples personalities reflect in the photographs I take for them. I am always looking for those special shots on the day that cannot be planned and have the experience and equipment to take advantage of these when they occur.

I’m shy in front of the camera and hate being photographed –

Almost every wedding couple that I meet tell me two things:- 1) they are shy and don’t really like being photographed, and 2) they hate posing!

Firstly, we totally understand that it’s your one in a million day, and understand some people don’t like being in front of the camera. Dreading the moment where the Photographer whisks you away for your photos.

I like to create or encourage scenarios where you are interacting with your friends and family and genuinely having fun, so you will basically forget that I’m even there! or I can guide you every step of the way if you prefer. This way you can be totally comfortable doing what you’re doing and I can shoot away getting all the laughs, cries and everything in between!

What if i need to change date or cancel due to Covid 19

I now offer a full refund of your wedding date up to 2 weeks before the start time. This allows for any situation that might arise due to COVID-19 , such as the bride or groom suddenly coming down with a cold and having to postpone or cancel.

What happens if you (the photographer) are sick?

That’s a good question! After many years of shooting I have been very lucky and have never pulled out of a wedding.
In a worst case scenario, if I’m seriously ill and cannot make it we have two options. I have my second photographer (Sonny) who has been working with me for the last three years and is more than capable to take over. Or I know heaps of very good photographers in the industry and would organise everything for you.

Do you shoot same sex weddings

Yes happy to do have done a couple would love to do more
