Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get the photos?

I try and make my turn around process as fast as possible! Within 48 hours I prepare a sneak peek of the day with around 25 photos in a mobile gallery that you can share via SMS. All images are then uploaded to your online gallery within 4 weeks.

How do i print photos

When printing, use the highest resolution version of the photo available (in pixels at the longest edge e.g. horizontal pixels for a landscape photo).

For my wedding clients, I recommend using the maximum resolution files which are available to download from.

The maximum resolution photos are uploaded at the same time you receive all photos. Just choose ‘High Resolution’ from Pixieset when downloading. The Web based files have my watermark the print files do not.

Our new online print and framing store ( From October 1 2020 ) will allow you and your guests to purchase directly .This is also where you can select any bundled prints and frames that were included.

Where should i store the photos.

Your gallery will be hosted for 18 mths or as detailed in our agreement and you will receive a email 1 month in advance of any changes to this.

Previously i provided a USB drive and this is still available should you want , however , it is not the best way to store photos long term & I highly recommended that you download them in the highest resolution available and store them using a backup service such as Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox or other cloud based storage.

You may also wish to encourage friends and family to download in high resolution and keep a copy as well. This way, you have multiple copies of the galleries stored and backed up.

Storing photos in multiple locations is the best way to guard against accidental data loss.

How many images will we receive?

During a full-day wedding photography shoot, my assistant Deb and I would generate an average of 1500-2000 photos. I will carefully select and remove any test shots, blinking shots, duplicates, and other unnecessary photos. On average, I provide the couple with 450-750 wedding photos, depending on factors such as the number of guests, size of the wedding party, length of the day, number of locations visited, and any additional ceremonies or cultural celebrations that require more coverage. I typically categorize these photos into groups such as pre-ceremony, ceremony, post-ceremony, family photos, and reception.

I understand that some photographers offer 2000-3000 photos, but I personally find this excessive. I question the uniqueness and variety of those additional 3000 photos. With 15 years of experience, I know when I've captured the perfect shot, so I prefer to move on and create more diverse combinations rather than capturing 10 images of the same thing.

What makes your work different to other photographers?

I love what I do, thrive on the pressure to get it right and enjoy the connection with the couples I meet. I invest time in pre-preparation treating every wedding as a unique event and endeavour to have the couples personalities reflect in the photographs I take for them. I am always looking for those special shots on the day that cannot be planned and have the experience and equipment to take advantage of these when they occur.

I’m shy in front of the camera and hate being photographed –

Almost every wedding couple that I meet tell me two things:- 1) they are shy and don’t really like being photographed, and 2) they hate posing!

Firstly, we totally understand that it’s your one in a million day, and understand some people don’t like being in front of the camera. Dreading the moment where the Photographer whisks you away for your photos.

I like to create or encourage scenarios where you are interacting with your friends and family and genuinely having fun, so you will basically forget that I’m even there! or I can guide you every step of the way if you prefer. This way you can be totally comfortable doing what you’re doing and I can shoot away getting all the laughs, cries and everything in between!

What if i need to change date or cancel due to Covid 19

I now offer a full refund of your wedding date up to 2 weeks before the start time. This allows for any situation that might arise due to COVID-19 , such as the bride or groom suddenly coming down with a cold and having to postpone or cancel.

What happens if you (the photographer) are sick?

That’s a good question! After many years of shooting I have been very lucky and have never pulled out of a wedding.
In a worst case scenario, if I’m seriously ill and cannot make it we have two options. I have my second photographer (Sonny) who has been working with me for the last three years and is more than capable to take over. Or I know heaps of very good photographers in the industry and would organise everything for you.

Do you shoot same sex weddings

Yes happy to do have done a couple would love to do more

What experience do you have

I have been working as a photographer full-time since 2010 and started shooting weddings in 2012. In 2014 I began focusing exclusively in this area and with over 200 weddings & many happy couples i  now focus primarily on weddings .

Are the images watermarked?

I watermark the web images only during the initial upload period but full resolution images uploaded at same time are not. It's to save confusion at your end make it easy for you to share & often there are updates as well . When everything is final with images , Albums etc i typically remove the web images completely.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Awesome! I love rain, some of my absolute favourite shots ever are in the rain. Although it’s totally up to you and also depends on how hard it is raining! If it is drizzling, then let’s grab the umbrellas and head out. Colours look lush, surfaces become reflective and I find that everything just comes alive! When we meet prior to wedding we can formulate plan b in case it rains

Do you retouch the photos?

The retouching process for your wedding photography consists of three stages. The first stage involves color correction, exposure adjustments, sharpening, composition modifications, and overall enhancement of every single image. This ensures that your photos look amazing and are ready for printing.

The second stage focuses on key images of yourselves and other important photos that will be printed for your album. This stage may include additional adjustments to remove blemishes, clutter, or other unwanted elements. I also enhance certain aspects to create a more dramatic effect and ensure that these images are perfect.

The third stage is similar to the second stage but prioritizes images intended for albums, slideshows, printing, or special requests from the couple, such as photoshopping in a guest who was present or who has passed away.
